During the trip, we were walking along a trail near the village of Namche Bazaar.
My Nepalese guide - Buddhi - was taking a comfort break in the trees when he found an SD card.
It was raining and the card was wet, but the photos were intact.
It contains holiday pictures from an as-yet unidentified couple (see pic above).
If you can help me find them, email lostcardman@gmail.com
I know if someone found an SD card containing my photos they would try to return them, however unlikely!
Hi Brady,
ReplyDeleteIs there any useful information in the exif data of the images?
Alfie
I agree with Alfie. It is possible that you will find a photo taken before the trip, and or the model of the device.
DeleteActually, reverse image search, exif, etc are all a good idea.. http://imgops.com/ has most of them. Another solution may be http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/
DeleteMaybe you can post a picture of them on Reddit? Im not sure if they would like that, but it can help you find them.

DeleteThe brand of the card is dance elec, which has a French website. The people are likely from France. http://www.dane-elec.fr/
ReplyDeleteDane Elec*
DeleteAlso by likely I definitely mean maybe
I would love to hear more information if you find the people.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say Reddit is probably the best bet for finding these people - either that or get in touch with Hank or John Green in order to solicit Nerdfighteria's (historically rather excellent - see Gussie Manlove et al) powers of research and finding things out.
ReplyDeleteI really hope that you find them, whatever happens, and it looks like there're some great videos coming out of this trip :)
7 degrees of separation.. Send this pic to the one person you think will most likely know someone who'll know them and ask that person to do the same?
ReplyDeleteUsing the meta info, facial recognition, reverse image search, etc etc, sounds like a possible video topic for Computerphile. *hint* *hint*
ReplyDeleteAny exif info that might help narrow the search, like date of the photos, camera make and model, etc?
