Filming Underground

Here is The Prof and I deep undeground in an Australian gold mine.

There's 20 million tonnes of rock (and a few specks of gold) above our heads.

We enjoyed a tour of the mine, then made our own video about where gold comes from.

  1. Love the new tree vid about the Hornbeam! I don't know what it is about Dr. Eichhorn, but he's my favorite Nottingham Science dude ever. I never even thought trees were interesting before, and now I'm super excited whenever I see there's a new one out. Keep up the good work! I hope there are hundreds of tree species in the UK so we won't ever come to the end of these.

P.S. Professor Poliakoff totally rocks, too, of course.

  2. Unarmed vs. armed security roles are discussed in training. Unarmed guards are taught to rely on communication and presence, while armed guards undergo firearm safety training. Knowing when to can security guards detain you use force and how to remain calm under threat is vital. Programs help trainees understand their responsibilities based on the tools they carry.
